Leave should work for everyone.
Leave is voice-first, and it should work just as well if you use a screen reader, a keyboard, larger text or reduced motion. Here's the standard we aim for, what's done, and how to reach us when something doesn't work.
1. The target
We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, on leaveyouragent.com and in the Leave apps for iOS and Android. That is a target we test against, not a certification.
2. What's done
- Skip links. Every page starts with a "Skip to content" link for keyboard and screen-reader users.
- Alt text. Images that carry meaning have text alternatives; decorative marks, like the waveform in the logo, are hidden from screen readers.
- Contrast. Text and controls are checked against the WCAG AA contrast ratios in both the ink and paper color schemes.
- Keyboard. Every link, button, slider and form works from the keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- Reduced motion. If your device asks for reduced motion, the animated waveforms and chat animations hold still.
- Dynamic Type in the apps. The Leave apps follow your device's text size settings, and screens reflow at larger sizes.
3. Known gaps
The pitch deck at /deck is a slide presentation built for a wide screen, with a PDF download. Share images for social posts are pictures of text; the same words are on the page next to them.
