Public in. Private stays private.
This policy explains what Leave collects, why, who sees it, and the choices you have. It's written to be read, not skimmed past. If anything here is unclear, ask us.
- Your public record is public. When you sign up, Leave builds your starting profile from information that's already out there: stats, rosters, announced deals, public follower counts. You can correct or remove it by saying so.
- Private stays private. Things you tell Leave privately — your major, your side hustle, your goals — are kept only for you. They're encrypted with a key that lives on your devices, so nobody at Leave, at our providers, or on your Teammate seat can read them. Leave uses them only to spin your Web, and you can delete them or revoke your key at any time.
- Nobody under 13. Leave is for athletes 13 and up. Accounts are 18+; a parent or guardian creates the account for an athlete aged 13 to 17.
- We don't sell your information and we don't share it for targeted advertising. Ever. That includes athletes under 18.
- We don't train AI models on your data. Our AI providers are contractually barred from doing so too.
- You're in control. Access, correct, export, or delete your data from the app or by emailing chris@leaveyouragent.com.
1. Who this covers
This Privacy Policy is issued by Leave Inc. ("Leave," "we," "us"). It applies to the Leave service wherever you use it: leaveyouragent.com, the Leave iOS and Android apps, and Leave when it runs inside a third-party AI assistant such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini (together, the "Service").
It covers two kinds of people:
- Athletes with a Leave account, including athletes aged 13 to 17 whose parent or guardian set it up.
- Talent Teammates — the one person an athlete brings inside, or the parent or guardian who creates the account for an athlete aged 13 to 17.
Leave does not build profiles of athletes who haven't signed up: your public record is looked up when you create your account, not before.
Our Terms of Service describe the rules for using Leave. This policy describes how we handle information.
Beta versions
Test builds of the app distributed through TestFlight or Google Play testing use fictional, pre-loaded data and may not connect to a live account. Anything you enter in a test build is stored only on your device unless the build says otherwise.
2. What we collect
Account and billing
When you sign up we collect your email address, your first and last name, whether you are the athlete or a parent or guardian setting up the account for an athlete aged 13 to 17, the athlete's first name if you are the parent or guardian, the athlete's date of birth (used only to confirm the athlete is 13 or older and apply the right age rules; it isn't shown on the profile), and the version of these terms you accepted and when. There is no password: you sign in with a six-digit code we email you, sent through our sign-in provider, WorkOS. If you invite a Talent Teammate, we collect their name and email. An athlete aged 13 to 17 gets their own sign-in.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Leave never sees or stores your full card number; we receive a payment token, the last four digits, the card type, and your billing status. Stripe's handling of your payment details is governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
Waitlist
Before Leave opens, you can join the waitlist on leaveyouragent.com with just your email address. With it we record which form you used, the page that referred you, any campaign or referral tag on the link you arrived from, your browser's user agent, the country your connection comes from (derived from your IP address; the IP address itself is not stored), and when you joined. Your IP address is used for a few minutes to limit how many sign-ups one connection can make, then dropped. To keep bots off the list, the form runs Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser for signs of automation when you submit; Cloudflare uses that signal only for the check, not for advertising or to follow you across sites. We use it only to email you when Leave opens, and we don't sell it or use it for advertising. To be removed, email chris@leaveyouragent.com.
Your public record
When you create an account, Leave looks up your public record from publicly available sources: league and school rosters, published statistics, press coverage and announced deals, and public profile information on social platforms (such as a public handle and follower count). It can include sport and position, school or team, graduation year, height, public social handles and follower counts, and publicly announced endorsements.
When you say "Hey Leave," Leave reads back the record it has matched to you and asks you to confirm it. Anything you correct replaces the public version in your profile.
What you tell Leave
Leave is voice-first. In the Leave app you can talk or type. When you talk, your speech is turned into text on your phone; audio leaves your device only if you turn on the server speech option in Accessibility settings, in which case it is sent to Google Cloud Speech-to-Text for that request and not retained, and the app shows an indicator every time it does. When you talk to Leave inside an AI assistant, the assistant passes your message (as text) to Leave so it can respond. We treat what you say in two ways:
- Profile updates — corrections to your public record and things you want on your profile (for example, "I'm 5'10" now"). These are saved to your account.
- Private details — your major, side hustles, causes, family, and what you want after the game. Each one is saved as a private strand of your Web, encrypted with a key that exists only on your devices (and in your iCloud Keychain if you use it). Leave staff cannot read them. They are never written to logs or analytics, never shown to your Talent Teammate, and never shared with an AI assistant unless you turn that on for that assistant (never for athletes under 18). You can delete any strand in the app; revoking your key makes all of them permanently unreadable, including in backups. See AI and automated processing.
Contracts you upload
When you upload an endorsement, NIL, appearance, or playing contract, Leave reads it and writes a plain-language contract summary: term, exclusivity, usage rights, payment schedule, and deliverables. Where your phone can read the document itself (digital PDFs, Word files, and photos it can recognize), the text is extracted on your device before anything is uploaded. If a scan can't be read on the device, the app asks you before sending it to Google's Document AI for text recognition. The original file, its text, and the summary are stored in your account, encrypted with keys only you and your Talent Teammate hold, so you can return to them. To show a contract in the brand's colors, Leave looks up the brand's logo and colors from Brandfetch by brand name only; that lookup carries nothing about you. The app opens your camera or photo library only when you choose to add a contract; it never scans your library on its own. Contracts often contain other parties' information (a brand's contact, a collective's terms); we use that only to build your contract summary.
Usage and device information
We collect only the information that is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Like most apps, we collect technical information when you use the Service: device type, model, and operating system, app version, IP address and the country or city derived from it, crash reports, a random install identifier used for feature analytics that we never link to your account, your device's push notification token so we can notify you, a per-device public key and an Apple or Google attestation that let us tell your devices apart and block fake clients, and which screens and features you use. We use this to keep Leave working and to improve it. We do not collect precise location, your contacts, or advertising identifiers, the app does not use an advertising SDK, and we do not build advertising profiles. Face ID and Touch ID are handled by Apple on your device; Leave never receives biometric data.
From Talent Teammates
A Talent Teammate can add notes and confirm details about an athlete's contracts and dates. Anything a Teammate adds is attributed to them and visible to the athlete.
3. How we use it
We use the information above to:
- Create and secure your account and recognize you when you say "Hey Leave."
- Build, confirm, and keep your profile accurate.
- Spin your Leave Web: plain-language observations about your public market, your contracts, and opportunities that match what you've told us.
- Explain uploaded contracts in plain language and remind you of the dates on them.
- Run your subscription: trials, billing, receipts, and the reminders the law requires.
- Give your Talent Teammate the visibility described in section 6.
- Send service messages — receipts, security alerts, the email with your app links. Marketing email is separate and you can opt out of it at any time.
- Keep the Service safe: detect abuse, enforce our Terms, and comply with law.
- Understand how Leave is used, in aggregate, so we can improve it.
We do not use your information to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you, and we do not sell it or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. AI and automated processing
Leave is built on large language models. Here is exactly what that means for your data.
What goes to the model
To answer you and to spin the Web, Leave sends the relevant parts of your conversation, your profile, and the contract you are asking about to an AI model. Our current model provider is Anthropic (Claude), accessed through Google Cloud. Any provider we use processes the data on our behalf under contracts that prohibit using it for anything other than serving your request. Google Cloud may retain prompts for up to 30 days solely for abuse monitoring; we have applied for its zero-data-retention option and will update this policy when it's in place.
No training on your data
Leave does not train or fine-tune AI models on your conversations, your profile, your private details, or your contracts. Our model providers are contractually prohibited from training on data we send them.
Private details stay yours
Private strands are decrypted on our servers only while you're using Leave, in memory, and only the ones a request needs, for the moment it takes to answer you or spin your Web; then they're dropped. They are never written to logs or analytics. The threads spun from them are saved to your account, encrypted the same way. You can see every strand on your profile's private card, change or remove any of them by telling Leave, and delete them all by revoking your key or deleting your account. If you want a thread removed, delete it in the app or ask us.
Contracts
The text of an uploaded contract is sent to the model to build your contract summary. The summary and the document stay in your account; the model provider retains neither once your request is complete, except for the abuse-monitoring window described above until zero data retention is in place.
Information, not advice — and no automated decisions
Leave is an AI, not a person. When you talk to Leave, you are talking to software built on large language models, and the app and assistants say so. The Web and contract explanations are generated by AI and can be wrong. They are information, not legal, financial, tax, or agency advice, and Leave does not make decisions for you. No thread or contract summary locks you into or out of anything; you decide what to do with it. You can ask Leave to explain how it reached any thread, and you can ask us to have a person review one by emailing chris@leaveyouragent.com.
5. Using Leave inside ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini
Leave connects to these assistants as a tool (through the Model Context Protocol, or MCP). When you talk to Leave there:
- The assistant is a separate service run by OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or another company. Your conversation with it is subject to that company's privacy policy and settings, including whether it retains your chat history or uses it to train models. Check those settings; we can't change them for you.
- Public by default. An assistant you connect sees your public record, public market signals, and the public parts of your Web threads, and it can add things you tell it to Leave. Your private strands and contract text stay locked.
- Private data only if you unlock it. You can share private strands and contract text with a specific assistant by turning on "Share private data" for it in the Leave app (Profile → Connections), after reading that assistant's data-retention notice and confirming with Face ID. The unlock lasts 15 minutes, or 1 hour if you choose, and you can lock or disconnect any assistant at any time.
- Athletes under 18 can't unlock private data for any assistant.
- Leave receives only what the assistant sends to the Leave tool: your sign-in, the message meant for Leave, and any file you attach for Leave. It does not receive your other conversations.
- What Leave replies — your public record, a thread from your Web, a contract summary — is shown inside the assistant and may be kept in that assistant's history under its rules.
If you'd rather keep certain details out of a third-party assistant's history, you can share them in the Leave app instead.
6. Talent Teammates and athletes under 18
Accounts are 18+; Leave is for athletes 13 and up
You must be 18 or older to hold a Leave account. An athlete aged 13 to 17 uses Leave through an account their parent or legal guardian creates, as described below. Leave can't be used by anyone under 13: the app checks the athlete's date of birth and refuses to create an account for a child under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child under 13 has given us information, email chris@leaveyouragent.com and we will delete it.
Athletes aged 13 to 17
A parent or legal guardian creates their own account, becomes the athlete's required Talent Teammate, and invites the athlete, who signs in with their own emailed code and holds their own encryption key. The parent or guardian can see the athlete's public record, contracts, payment and deliverable dates, and Web threads, but not the athlete's private strands; can manage the athlete's settings and billing; and can delete the athlete's account at any time. The athlete can't share private data with AI assistants. By creating the account the parent or guardian confirms they have the authority to do so.
For athletes under 18 we additionally commit that we will not sell or share their personal information, will not show them targeted advertising, will not collect their precise geolocation, will not use design features intended to increase or extend their time in the app, and will not use their private details for anything other than spinning their own Web.
What a Talent Teammate can see
Every athlete account includes one Talent Teammate seat. A Teammate has their own login and can see the athlete's contracts, payment and deliverable dates, and the Web. A Teammate cannot see the private details an athlete tells Leave; those are encrypted with the athlete's own key and can't be read by a Teammate, by Leave, or by anyone else. Contracts are shared with the Teammate by encrypting each one to the Teammate's own key as well. An athlete who is 18 or older can change or remove their Teammate at any time in the app. A parent or guardian who is the required Teammate of an athlete aged 13 to 17 can't be removed by the athlete.
8. How long we keep it
We may keep limited information longer where we are required to by law, to resolve disputes, or to enforce our agreements; backups are purged on a rolling schedule.
9. Security
Your private strands, contract text, and files are encrypted with a per-item key that is itself locked twice: once by a hardware key in our cloud and once by a key share that exists only on your devices (and in your iCloud Keychain if you use it). Leave's staff, our hosting provider, and our vendors hold only encrypted data they can't read. The app unlocks only what you're using at the moment, and hands our servers those keys for at most 15 minutes. You get a recovery code when you sign up; if you lose every device and the code, your private data cannot be recovered by anyone, including us. A new phone gets no private data until a phone you already use approves it or you enter the recovery code, and every new sign-in notifies your devices and your Talent Teammate. You can rotate or revoke your key in the app. Everything else is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest, access inside Leave is limited to the systems that need it and is logged, and no private text reaches our logs. The full design, what is live today, and how to report a vulnerability are on our Security page.
No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires. Help us by keeping your email account secure, keeping your recovery code somewhere safe, leaving the app's Face ID lock on, and keeping your Talent Teammate's contact details current.
10. Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can:
- Access what we hold about you. Say "Hey Leave, what do you have on me?" or use Profile in the app.
- Correct it. Tell Leave what's wrong, by voice or text, and it updates.
- Export your profile, your Web, and your contracts in a portable format (Profile → Export my data; the export is encrypted so only you can open it).
- Delete individual strands, threads, or contracts, or your entire account, in the app (Profile → Delete my account; you type DELETE to confirm, and deletion completes within 30 days).
- Revoke your key (Profile → Your key). After a 24-hour undo window, every private strand, contract, and file becomes permanently unreadable, including in backups.
- Opt out of marketing email with the link in any message.
- Ask who received it. On request we will tell you the specific third parties we have shared your personal information with.
- Remove your public record by deleting your account or asking us at chris@leaveyouragent.com.
State privacy rights
If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of your personal information; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, targeted advertising, and certain profiling; and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Leave does not sell or share personal information or use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front, but we honor Global Privacy Control signals from your browser as an opt-out request anyway.
To exercise any right, use the tools in the app or email chris@leaveyouragent.com. We will verify your request by confirming access to the email on the account, or with additional information if you have no account. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with proof of your written permission. We respond within 45 days (extendable once by 45 days where the law allows). If we decline a request, we'll tell you why, and you can appeal by replying to our response; we will answer the appeal within 45 days.
California residents: the categories of personal information we have collected in the last 12 months are identifiers (including device identifiers: push token, install identifier, and device key), customer records (billing), commercial information (subscription and contract details), internet activity (app usage), approximate geolocation, audio or electronic information (your messages to Leave as text; audio only if you turn on server speech), and inferences (the Web). Sources, purposes, and recipients are described in sections 2, 3, and 7. We do not collect precise geolocation, and we treat the private details you tell Leave as sensitive: they are used only to provide the Service you ask for.
We do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, which have no agreed meaning, but we do honor Global Privacy Control as described above.
12. Where data lives
Leave is operated from the United States. It runs in Google Cloud's Iowa (us-central1) region, and your data stays in the United States. If you use Leave from outside the United States, you understand your information will be transferred to the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. We rely on our providers' standard contractual protections for any such transfer.
If you are in the EU, UK, or Switzerland. Leave is designed for athletes in the United States and is not currently marketed elsewhere. If you use it anyway, our legal bases for processing are: performing our contract with you (running your account, your Web, your contract summaries, and your subscription); our legitimate interests in keeping the Service secure and improving it; your consent, where we ask for it (for example, marketing email); and legal obligations (for example, tax records). You have the rights described in section 10, plus the rights to restrict or object to processing and to withdraw consent at any time. Leave Inc. is the controller.
13. Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy when our practices change. For material changes we'll email account holders and post a notice in the app at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The "last updated" date at the top tells you when the current version was published, and earlier versions are available on request.
14. Contact
Questions, requests, and complaints: chris@leaveyouragent.com. If you are in the EU or UK and believe we have not resolved your concern, you may also contact your local data protection authority.
Leave organizes publicly available information and explains terms. It is not a licensed agent and does not provide legal or financial advice.
