Milwaukee NIL rules.

UW-Milwaukee athletes disclose NIL activity in Opendorse before it happens, and $600+ deals to NIL Go; representation agreements go to UWM 7 days ahead. CSC lists it.

The short answer. UW-Milwaukee's NIL policy, printed in its 2026-27 Student-Athlete Handbook, says athletes "shall disclose information and details of all NIL activities prior to engaging in the activity via Opendorse" and give UWM a copy of any representation agreement "at least 7 days prior to the effective date of the contract". Wisconsin law has UW System athletes disclose each third-party deal before entering into it, and NCAA rules add NIL Go reporting for third-party deals of $600 or more within five business days. The College Sports Commission's 2026-27 table lists Milwaukee as participating in revenue sharing, and Milwaukee Athletics named the Panther Future Fund the official collective of men's basketball in 2024.

It permits pay for "noninstitutional use" of NIL; bars pay without work performed, pay contingent on enrollment, pay for athletic participation or achievement and pay "By an institution or its staff members"; bars promoting NIL activity while on call for required athletically related activities, naming celebrations on the court and press conferences; and bars selling school-provided memorabilia before eligibility ends. It applies to recruits from the day they sign a National Letter of Intent or athletic aid agreement or pay a financial deposit. What is specific to Milwaukee

UW-Milwaukee, a University of Wisconsin System school with no football team (separate from UW-Madison and from Marquette, also in Milwaukee), prints its NIL policy in the 2026-27 Student-Athlete Handbook rather than a stand-alone file. It treats representation as its own disclosure: an agreement with an agent, lawyer, financial advisor or marketing rep goes to UWM in writing at least seven days before its effective date. Its official collective is sport-specific, the Panther Future Fund for men's basketball, built around charity work. On 2026-10-06 Milwaukee announced its first jersey patch partner, Tabak Law, on men's and women's basketball and soccer uniforms, in a multi-year agreement that also includes intellectual property rights across the athletics platform. Wisconsin law bars a UW System athlete's NIL agreement that conflicts with "a provision of an agreement of the board" or a school or team policy; the patch agreement's terms are not published.

How Leave fits

In Leave, every deal thread carries a rules summary for the athlete's state and level, and keeps the contract, its dates and the disclosure deadline that applies. It is a summary, not a ruling; the school and the law decide. Leave is software, not an agent, and takes 0% of any deal. You decide, you send.

Questions about NIL at Milwaukee

Does UW-Milwaukee pay its athletes?

The College Sports Commission's 2026-27 table lists UW-Milwaukee as participating in revenue sharing, and the commission puts the 2026-27 cap at about $21.58 million per school. Wisconsin law lets the UW Board of Regents enter agreements to pay athletes for NIL. Milwaukee has not published amounts or how it divides the money.

How do Milwaukee Panthers athletes report NIL deals?

UWM's policy has athletes disclose all NIL activity through Opendorse before engaging in it, and give UWM any representation agreement at least seven days before its effective date. Wisconsin law has UW System athletes disclose each third-party deal before entering into it, and NCAA Bylaws 22.2.2 and 22.2.2.2 call for reporting third-party deals of $600 or more to NIL Go within five business days.

What NIL collective works with Milwaukee men's basketball?

Milwaukee Athletics named the Panther Future Fund the official collective of men's basketball on 2024-03-18. It launched in 2023, is led by former Panther Joah Tucker and was founded around community charity work. Its website did not load on 2026-10-24, so its current status was not confirmed.

Can a UW-Milwaukee athlete hire an NIL agent?

UWM's policy allows representation only for NIL and not for future professional contract negotiations, and a provider securing NIL pay must be licensed as Wisconsin requires. Wisconsin law bars UW schools from prohibiting NIL representation by an agent or licensed attorney.

Is UW-Milwaukee the same as Wisconsin or Marquette for NIL rules?

No. UW-Milwaukee is its own Horizon League school with its own NIL policy. It shares Wisconsin's UW System NIL law with UW-Madison, while Marquette is a private Big East school in the same city.
