Seton Hall NIL rules.

Seton Hall said in 2025 its revenue sharing is geared to men's and women's basketball. Its NIL policy sets 48-hour disclosure and bars Catholic-mission categories.

The short answer. Seton Hall is on the College Sports Commission's 2026-27 list of revenue-sharing schools (cap about $21.58 million per school), and its athletic director wrote on 2025-06-10 that its revenue sharing is "geared towards Men's and Women's Basketball", funded through the Pirate Blue Athletic Fund. Seton Hall's NIL policy (amended 2022-11-09) asks athletes to disclose NIL contracts within 48 hours, and its August 2026 student-athlete handbook adds NIL Go for deals of $600 or more. The policy bars endorsements in categories such as gambling, alcohol, weapons and products "contrary to the Catholic mission".

It allows pay for NIL "for a commercial purpose", bars pay for play and NIL deals contingent on enrolling or staying enrolled, and in section 2.A says "The University shall not compensate a current or prospective student-athlete for use of the student-athlete's name, image, or likeness". Seton Hall's policy says an athlete who signs an NIL contract "shall disclose the contract" to the Athletics Compliance Office "within forty-eight (48) hours" on the university's disclosure form, and "shall use their best efforts" to disclose proposed contracts beforehand. School marks and group licensingUniversity and athletics marks, including the university's name, need "prior written permission" from the Athletic Director or a designee, unless the athlete has a written NIL agreement with an approved university licensee or sponsor; athletes not in good standing may not use them. Filming with outside crews on campus needs approval from the Vice President for University Relations as well, and chapels, seminaries and other worship spaces may not be used. Seton Hall launched group licensing with The Brandr Group for its 14 sports on 2022-12-20. The policy says any University Contract (an agreement requiring athletes to wear certain apparel or use certain equipment, services or goods) "shall allow the University, athletic association, conference, or other group or organization with authority over intercollegiate athletics, to use the student-athlete's NIL for advertising without additional compensation paid to the student-athlete"Seton Hall NIL Policy (amended 2022-11-09), § 1.K, 1.L, 1.O, 2.B; Seton Hall Athletics, Brandr Group release (2022-12-20)
Revenue sharingThe College Sports Commission lists Seton Hall as participating in 2026-27 and puts the cap at "approximately $21.58 million per school" (read 2026-10-22). Athletic Director Bryan Felt wrote on 2025-06-10 that Seton Hall's revenue sharing efforts "will be geared towards Men's and Women's Basketball", funded by gifts to Pirate Blue designated to the Men's and Women's Basketball Revenue Sharing Funds and by season ticket priority seat premiums. In a letter dated 2026-04-21, Felt wrote that "Seton Hall has once again increased funding dedicated to basketball revenue sharing efforts this year", that Seton Hall "is one of the few programs in the conference receiving direct support from the University in addition to its standard operating budget", and that "The priority seat premium that our season ticket holders pay annually goes right to student-athlete revenue sharing". Seton Hall said on 2026-04-27 that donors gave "nearly 60 percent" of its 2026 Giving Day total to student-athlete revenue share. No allocation amounts were published. What is specific to Seton Hall

Seton Hall's NIL rules carry its Catholic identity. Its banned list goes past New Jersey's and names abortion, artificial contraception and divorce among activities "contrary to the Catholic mission", and athletes may not use the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception, the seminaries or any space used for prayer in a paid NIL arrangement. The policy also asks for disclosure within 48 hours of signing and requires NIL attorneys to be licensed in New Jersey. On the money side, Seton Hall ties revenue sharing to basketball and to fan support: Pirate Blue Giving Day in April 2025 raised nearly $500,000 for the new men's and women's basketball revenue sharing funds, and season ticket priority seat premiums now go to basketball revenue sharing.

How Leave fits

In Leave, every deal thread carries a rules summary for the athlete's state and level, and keeps the contract, its dates and the disclosure deadline that applies. It is a summary, not a ruling; the school and the law decide. Leave is software, not an agent, and takes 0% of any deal. You decide, you send.

Questions about NIL at Seton Hall

Does Seton Hall pay its athletes?

Seton Hall is on the College Sports Commission's list of revenue-sharing schools for 2026-27, where the cap is about $21.58 million per school. Athletic Director Bryan Felt wrote on 2025-06-10 that revenue sharing is geared toward men's and women's basketball and funded through Pirate Blue gifts and season ticket seat premiums.
