UNLV NIL rules.

UNLV pays athletes for NIL rights through Championship Resources, its donor-funded revenue share program. Deals of $600 or more go to NIL Go, smaller ones to Opendorse.

The short answer. UNLV's 2026-27 Student-Athlete Handbook calls Championship Resources "UNLV's donor funded Revenue Share program", through which UNLV Athletics compensates athletes "directly for their NIL rights"; the College Sports Commission lists UNLV for 2026-27, with a cap of about $21.58 million per school. The handbook says athletes disclose NIL activity in Opendorse when it is worth under $600 and in NIL Go at $600 or more, and UNLV requires NIL agents to file a registration form with Compliance. Nevada law makes NIL contracts disclosed to the school confidential.

School NIL policyUNLV "Rebel Regulations & Guidelines: Name, Image, and Likeness Regulations and Guidelines", effective 2025-02-06 and superseding 2022-11-01, reviewed by the Compliance Office and Office of General Counsel and approved by the Office of the President and the Director of Athletics. It cites NRS 398.300 to 398.330 and NCAA Bylaw 22, requires a quid pro quo, and bars pay contingent on enrollment or in exchange for athletic performance. It also says an athlete may be paid by a third party "but not from the student-athlete's University or conference" and that "UNLV shall not directly or indirectly compensate student-athletes for use of their NIL", wording that predates UNLV's revenue-sharing program. How deals are disclosedUNLV's 2026-27 handbook says "Per Nevada State Law and NCAA regulations, student-athletes must disclose all NIL activations either via Opendorse (if NIL activation is valued below $600.00) or via NILGo (if NIL activation is valued at or above $600.00)". The 2025 regulations say disclosure to the Athletics Compliance Office includes the people involved, the terms and pay, and any professional service provider and its pay; Compliance reviews for conflicts and acknowledges the activity, and "This review does not constitute a legal review". What is specific to UNLV

UNLV moved its donor support for athletes into a program it runs itself. Championship Resources, launched 2026-03-31, is described by UNLV as a "university-administered NIL revenue-sharing model" and as a transition for those who previously supported the Friends of UNiLV collective; under it UNLV Athletics will "acquire, administer and compensate student-athletes directly for their NIL rights", something Nevada law has not barred for current athletes since S.B. 293 took effect on 2025-07-01. UNLV's 2025 regulations also set rules for its own staff: coaches and staff may identify NIL opportunities and facilitate deals for an athlete who has chosen to disclose, and may give an NIL entity limited help with fundraising, donor introductions and meetings, but "may not donate nor subscribe to an NIL entity". UNLV also routes disclosure by size, sending activity under $600 to Opendorse and $600 or more to NIL Go. Its posted materials show three platform eras: NOCAP Sports and the Vegas Effect education program (2021), an INFLCR exchange (2025 supporter guide) and Opendorse (2026).

How Leave fits

In Leave, every deal thread carries a rules summary for the athlete's state and level, and keeps the contract, its dates and the disclosure deadline that applies. It is a summary, not a ruling; the school and the law decide. Leave is software, not an agent, and takes 0% of any deal. You decide, you send.

Questions about NIL at UNLV

Does UNLV pay its athletes?

Yes, through NIL agreements. UNLV's handbook calls Championship Resources its donor-funded revenue share program, under which UNLV Athletics compensates athletes directly for their NIL rights, and the College Sports Commission lists UNLV for 2026-27 with a cap of about $21.58 million per school. Recipients are contacted by their coaching staff or compliance. No breakdown is published.

What happened to the Friends of UNiLV collective?

UNLV's 2026-03-31 release says Championship Resources ensures "a seamless transition" for those who previously supported the Friends of UNiLV collective, moving that support into a revenue-sharing program UNLV administers. Whether the collective still operates was not confirmed from a primary source.

How do UNLV athletes report NIL deals?

UNLV's 2026-27 handbook says NIL activity worth under $600 is disclosed in Opendorse and activity worth $600 or more in NIL Go; the NCAA deadline for NIL Go is five business days. Nevada law requires disclosure of NIL contracts to the school and keeps them confidential.

Do NIL agents have to register with UNLV?

UNLV says an agent completes its Marketing/Name, Image, and Likeness Agent Registration Form to represent a UNLV athlete in NIL deals, and its regulations limit agents to marketing and branding. Nevada's agent act separately requires athlete agents to register with the Secretary of State.

What can't UNLV athletes endorse?

UNLV's regulations restrict tobacco and nicotine, illicit drugs, marijuana and CBD, banned performance enhancing drugs, alcohol, sports wagering including fantasy sports, adult entertainment businesses and anything that conflicts with a University agreement. Nevada law lets schools set such restrictions.
