What is specific to Norfolk State
Norfolk State, a historically Black university in the city where the MEAC has its headquarters, has tied revenue sharing to the gate. Its April 2025 season-ticket release told fans that "for the first time ever, their purchase of a season ticket will benefit the NSU Athletic Department while providing direct financial support to our student athletes", and its June 2025 statement extended that to a portion of revenue from all athletic events. NSU was also present for Virginia's 2024 NIL expansion: on 2024-04-18 it reported that Athletic Director Melody Webb, football coach Dawson Odums and an Associate AD for External Relations/NIL attended the ceremonial signing of HB 1505, which lets Virginia schools support and facilitate NIL deals. NSU hosted "Inside the NIL: HBCU Educational Summit" with B.E. Collective+ on 2024-02-02, free of charge to current NSU athletes, and a second annual summit on 2024-10-13.
How Leave fits
In Leave, every deal thread carries a rules summary for the athlete's state and level, and keeps the contract, its dates and the disclosure deadline that applies. It is a summary, not a ruling; the school and the law decide. Leave is software, not an agent, and takes 0% of any deal. You decide, you send.
