Southern is on the College Sports Commission's 2026-27 revenue-sharing list. Its NIL rules are Southern University System Policy 15-001, approved in 2021.

The short answer. Southern University's published NIL rules are the Southern University System Board of Supervisors' Policy 15-001, "Policy on Student-Athlete Name, Image and Likeness (NIL)", approved on 2021-08-20 for every campus in the system. It requires athletes to "disclose any agreements" to the school, bars tobacco, alcohol, illegal substances, banned athletic substances and gambling endorsements, and needs express written permission for Southern marks. What is specific to Southern

Southern's NIL rules are set at the system level: Policy 15-001 binds every campus of the Southern University System and leaves reporting, monitoring and sanctions to each campus. Two of its provisions are specific to the system policy. International athletes "should not enter into any name, image, or likeness agreements without guidance from the Southern University Office for International Students to guard against any potential student visa issues", and an NIL attorney files a letter of good standing with the campus compliance office. On the athletics side, Southern has published platforms rather than a collective: NOCAP Sports in 2022, when Director of Athletics Roman Banks spoke of "our 390 student-athletes" and NOCAP offered education on "LLCs, branding, trademarks, building brands and businesses and financial literacy", and Influxer in July 2026, with training in "personal branding, marketing, entrepreneurship, and business development". The 2022 release states that athletes "keep 100 percent of everything garnered in each deal made while using the platform".

How Leave fits

In Leave, every deal thread carries a rules summary for the athlete's state and level, and keeps the contract, its dates and the disclosure deadline that applies. It is a summary, not a ruling; the school and the law decide. Leave is software, not an agent, and takes 0% of any deal. You decide, you send.
