Southern Miss NIL rules.

Southern Miss shares revenue with "select student-athletes", its AD wrote in 2025. Its 2021 NIL policy requires notice 3 days before signing a deal.

The short answer. Athletic Director Jeremy McClain wrote on 2025-09-18 that donors helped Southern Miss "create an opportunity where we can share revenue with select student-athletes", and that gifts can now go tax-deductibly to the Southern Miss Athletics Foundation; the College Sports Commission lists Southern Miss for 2026-27, with a cap of approximately $21.58 million per school. Southern Miss's NIL policy (posted 2021-06-30) says athletes "must notify" compliance 3 days before signing an NIL agreement or before the next contest, whichever is earlier, and 7 days before signing with an agent or attorney. NIL Go applies to third-party deals of $600 or more.

What is specific to Southern Miss

Southern Miss's published NIL rules are short and procedural, and they date from the first day of college NIL. The 2021 policy, a scanned three-page document, sets several short clocks: written notice and an ARMS approval form for any NIL activity, 3 days' notice before signing a deal or before the next contest, 3 days to report a change, 7 days' notice before signing with an agent or attorney, and a yearly August reaffirmation of any long-term deal. It also keeps NIL off campus facilities entirely. Its attorney rule, a Mississippi license in good standing, followed the 2021 statute, which the legislature has since rewritten. On money, McClain's 2025 letter describes revenue sharing with "select student-athletes" funded with donor help, and a record FY25 for the Southern Miss Athletics Foundation.

How Leave fits

In Leave, every deal thread carries a rules summary for the athlete's state and level, and keeps the contract, its dates and the disclosure deadline that applies. It is a summary, not a ruling; the school and the law decide. Leave is software, not an agent, and takes 0% of any deal. You decide, you send.
