WCU's 2023 policy: "Student-athletes must disclose details of any NIL activity within ten business days of the agreement", with modifications reported within ten business days; its disclosure steps use the Athliance app. WCU's 2023 FAQ says to disclose "before you enter into such a contract" through Athliance or Icon Source, and WCU announced Icon Suite from Icon Source on 2023-02-06 as a local NIL marketplace that also handles deal disclosure. NCAA settlement", with benefits allowed "beginning with the 2025-26 academic year". What is specific to Western Carolina
Western Carolina changed course on revenue sharing in the summer of 2025. Its 2025-06-30 release says Catamount Athletics "originally planned to forgo opting in this year" but decided "now is the time to opt in" as more settlement details were released, and Athletic Director Kyle Pifer said opting in "will allow WCU Athletics to be more competitive". The same release says opting in moves player compensation from the alumni-formed Cullowhee Collective to the university. The written NIL policy posted on 2026-10-24 is dated 2023-04-27, refers readers to North Carolina's Executive Order 223 (rescinded 2024-03-08), and says WCU staff "may not assist student-athletes in the development, operation, or promotion of NIL activities". One rule specific to WCU bars NIL promotion of other colleges and online schools.
How Leave fits
In Leave, every deal thread carries a rules summary for the athlete's state and level, and keeps the contract, its dates and the disclosure deadline that applies. It is a summary, not a ruling; the school and the law decide. Leave is software, not an agent, and takes 0% of any deal. You decide, you send.
