UNC Greensboro NIL rules.

UNC Greensboro opted into the House settlement and is on the 2026-27 revenue-sharing list. Its posted NIL rules are 2023 interim guidelines; NIL Go applies.

The short answer. UNCG Athletics wrote on 2025-07-25 that it had opted in to the NCAA House settlement, and the College Sports Commission lists UNC Greensboro as a revenue-sharing school for 2026-27, with a 2026-27 cap of about $21.58 million per school; UNCG has published no revenue-sharing figure. The NIL rules on its athletics site are the "UNCG Interim Guidelines" dated 2023-01-20, which have athletes disclose all NIL activities through the INFLCR app and list banned categories. North Carolina has no general NIL statute; its agent act covers NIL agents and NIL contract records are confidential (/nil/college/north-carolina).

What is specific to UNC Greensboro

The sports listed in UNC Greensboro's trustees' 2025 roster-limit table are baseball, men's and women's basketball, cross country and track, golf, soccer and tennis, softball and volleyball; football is not among them. Its 2023 guidelines are detailed on places and property: NIL activities in an athletics facility need permission from the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations and the university rental rate, locker rooms, training rooms and team lounges are off limits, and a deal can conflict with UNCG agreements if it has an athlete wear another brand at team activities, promote beverages outside UNCG's list, or sell merchandise competing with the campus bookstore. The guidelines also say athletes on an F-1 or other non-immigrant visa "are not permitted to earn NIL compensation in the United States".

How Leave fits

In Leave, every deal thread carries a rules summary for the athlete's state and level, and keeps the contract, its dates and the disclosure deadline that applies. It is a summary, not a ruling; the school and the law decide. Leave is software, not an agent, and takes 0% of any deal. You decide, you send.

Questions about NIL at UNC Greensboro

Does UNC Greensboro pay its athletes?

UNCG Athletics wrote on 2025-07-25 that it had opted in to the House settlement, which permits direct revenue sharing, and the College Sports Commission lists UNC Greensboro for 2026-27, with a 2026-27 cap of about $21.58 million per school. A trustees' Athletics Committee item of 2026-09-22 says revenue-share payments come directly from the institution. UNCG has not published a figure or a description of how it pays.

What NIL collective works with UNC Greensboro?

UNCG Athletics announced Spartans Unite on 2023-09-05 as a third-party collective that "is not officially affiliated through the University". Its website says it is currently focused on UNCG basketball athletes. UNCG's Spartan Club separately runs the Spartan Impact Fund, set up after UNCG opted in to the House settlement.

How do UNCG athletes report NIL deals?

UNCG's 2023 interim guidelines have athletes disclose all NIL activities to the athletics department through the INFLCR app. The NCAA separately has third-party deals of $600 or more reported to NIL Go within five business days. North Carolina law does not require disclosure to the school.

Can international athletes at UNC Greensboro earn NIL money?

UNCG's 2023 guidelines say athletes on an F-1 or other non-immigrant visa "are not permitted to earn NIL compensation in the United States", and that international athletes wishing to conduct NIL activities outside the United States "should consult with Athletic Compliance prior to beginning those activities".

Can UNCG athletes use the UNCG logo in NIL deals?

UNCG's 2023 guidelines allow photos with UNCG marks for personal brand building on social media. Using UNCG marks in an NIL activity, or wearing UNCG apparel or uniforms, needs prior written approval from the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Business Operations, and athletes may not imply that UNCG endorses a product. UNCG's Influxer store, announced 2025-11-26, sells athletes' personalized merchandise with designs the university approves.

Is UNCG the same school as UNCW or North Carolina A&T?

No. UNC Greensboro (UNCG) is a separate university in the University of North Carolina System and plays in the Southern Conference. North Carolina A&T, which is also in Greensboro, and UNC Wilmington both play in the CAA and publish their own NIL rules.
