Elon NIL rules.

Elon is on the 2026-27 revenue-sharing list. Its NIL policy, revised July 2025, sends deals of $600 or more to NIL Go and needs written permission to use Elon logos.

The short answer. The College Sports Commission lists Elon as a revenue-sharing school for 2026-27, with a cap of about $21.58 million per school; Elon has published no revenue-sharing statement or figures. Elon's NIL policy, revised in July 2025, has athletes report noninstitutional deals of $600 or more to NIL Go "within five (5) business days", and requires written permission, and possibly licensing fees, to use Elon logos. North Carolina has no general college NIL statute, but its agent law reaches Elon athletes (/nil/college/north-carolina).

What is specific to Elon

Elon revised its NIL policy in July 2025. The new version drops the 2021 policy's two-business-day NOCAP disclosure and its bar on Elon staff "assisting with or facilitating NIL activities", and replaces them with NIL Go reporting for noninstitutional deals of $600 or more, counted across affiliated payors. What stayed is Elon's approach to its brand: any use of Elon logos, name or property needs written permission and may carry licensing or rental fees, and unapproved use can lead to repayment to the University. The 2026-27 handbook prints the policy in full. Elon's athletics plan, Phoenix Rising (announced 2025-06-03), lists the goal to "Develop strategic plan to increase corporate sponsorship and incorporate NIL partnerships" next to ticket sales and new revenue sources, and Elon Sports Properties has its own general manager in the athletics staff directory. Elon athletes can sign up for both the Forever Phoenix NIL Network on Opendorse and the Elon NIL Store.

How Leave fits

In Leave, every deal thread carries a rules summary for the athlete's state and level, and keeps the contract, its dates and the disclosure deadline that applies. It is a summary, not a ruling; the school and the law decide. Leave is software, not an agent, and takes 0% of any deal. You decide, you send.

Questions about NIL at Elon

Does Elon pay its athletes?

Elon is on the College Sports Commission's list of revenue-sharing schools for 2026-27, and the Commission puts the cap at about $21.58 million per school. The CAA said on 2025-01-29 that its board and member institutions "have committed to opting into the pending NCAA House settlement by March 1, 2025". Elon has published no revenue-sharing statement, budget or breakdown of its own.

How do Elon athletes report NIL deals?

Elon's 2025 policy follows NIL Go: noninstitutional deals or payment terms worth $600 or more, including repeat payments from the same or affiliated payors, are reported to NILGO.com within five business days of signing or agreeing to payment terms. Questions go to Elon Athletics Compliance.

Can Elon athletes use Elon logos in NIL deals?

Only with written permission from the Department of Athletics, requested through the Logos and Marks Request form, and the use "may be subject to licensing and/or rental fees". The Elon NIL Store sells apparel that Elon says is officially licensed by the University.

Does Elon have an NIL collective?

Elon has not named one. Its published NIL platforms are the Forever Phoenix NIL Network on Opendorse, launched in February 2023, and the Elon NIL Store, launched in February 2025.

Do North Carolina NIL agent rules apply to Elon, a private school?

Yes. North Carolina's athlete agent law, G.S. 78C, has no private-school exception; since 2025-07-01 an NIL agency contract is an agency contract, so the agent registers with the Secretary of State and the athlete may cancel within 14 days. Elon's policy points to the same statute and to the federal Sports Agent Responsibility and Trust Act.
