LouisianaHigh school

Louisiana high school NIL is now set by state law.

R.S. 17:3705, enacted by Act 810 of 2026 (HB 513), replaces the LHSAA's 2022 position statement as the rule. The proposed deal is disclosed to the high school before it is signed, and an athlete under 18 needs a parent's or guardian's written consent. Nine categories are barred by the statute.

CorrectionWyomingHigh school

The high school table now shows Wyoming's state law.

The Wyoming page has quoted W.S. 21-25-401 since October 21, but its row in the 51-state table and the CSV still described only the WHSAA proposal that failed in October 2025. Since July 1, 2026, state law ends amateur status for NIL pay tied to competing, and the WHSAA handbook has no NIL permission.

CorrectionNCAA Division ICollege

Division I has one reporting deadline, NIL Go within five business days.

The home page and the contracts guide said Division I deals of $600 or more are disclosed to the school within 30 days. That was the 2024 rule. Since July 1, 2025, Bylaw 22.2.2.2 sends deals of $600 or more to NIL Go within five business days of signing. Some schools set their own window as well.

CorrectionTen statesHigh school

Ten high school pages were re-read against the 2026-27 rule texts.

Florida now cites Bylaw 9.10 and five business days. Michigan quotes Regulation I, Section 11(C), and both of the MHSAA's readings of the window (seven days, and seven business days in its FAQ). Texas is marked Limited under the 2026-27 UIL rules and HB 126; Georgia counts calendar days. Ohio, Illinois and New York were updated to their current texts.

CorrectionIndianaHigh school

Indiana allows high school NIL from 2026-27.

The high school table's FAQ and the NIL guide repeated older lists that show Indiana as prohibiting it. The IHSAA's 2026-27 By-Laws add Rule 5-7, Personal Branding Activity, which allows it.

CorrectionColoradoCollege

Colorado's 72-hour disclosure rule is gone.

H.B. 25-1041 repealed C.R.S. § 23-16-301(3), which had required college athletes to disclose a deal within 72 hours. Free statute mirrors still show the old text. The deal-reporting guide had followed them and now says the school's policy decides.

S. 4668 passed the Senate and is held at the House desk.

The Protect College Sports Act passed the Senate 77-22 on September 28, 2026, and has been held at the House desk since October 5. As passed, its § 121 would set aside most state NIL provisions and keep the state athlete-agent acts.
