La Salle NIL rules.

La Salle opted into House revenue sharing in June 2025, but its posted NIL policy is still the July 2021 version. Alumni launched Explorers United in 2023.

The short answer. La Salle said on 2025-06-10 that it "has chosen to opt into the settlement", and the College Sports Commission lists it as a revenue-sharing school for 2026-27. The NIL policy La Salle still posts dates from July 2021: it asks athletes to disclose a proposed NIL contract "at least seven (7) days prior to execution", bars deals with companies competing with La Salle sponsors (adidas is named) and adds "Products and/or services that run counter to the University mission or Catholic values" to Pennsylvania's banned categories. Explorers United, an alumni-led collective, launched in 2023.

School NIL policy"La Salle University Student-Athlete Name, Image and Likeness Policy", effective 2021-07-01 and posted 2021-07-14, linked from the athletics NIL page as the "La Salle University Institutional Policy". It allows third-party NIL pay for value actually provided and "NOT provided in exchange for or related in any way to athletic performance", and states that athletes "are entitled to compensation only from non-University entities and not from the University". La Salle staff may not be "involved in any way" with an athlete's NIL activity (a coach may not appear in a commercial with an athlete). Athletes may not miss mandatory academic or athletic requirements for NIL. How deals are disclosedNCAA: third-party deals of $600 or more go to NIL Go within five business days (Bylaws 22.2.2, 22.2.2.2). La Salle's 2021 policy: athletes "must disclose any NIL Activity to the University, whether compensated or uncompensated", and a proposed NIL contract "at least seven (7) days prior to execution of the contract", on the disclosure form from the Compliance Office; La Salle keeps the records for seven years. The NIL page and the 2025-26 Student-Athlete Handbook still say Pennsylvania law requires the seven-day disclosure; Pennsylvania has made disclosure to the school optional ("may") since 2024 while letting schools set disclosure policiesLa Salle Athletics, NIL Policy (2021), NIL page and Student-Athlete Handbook 2025-26; NCAA Division I Manual 2026-27; /nil/college/pennsylvania
Banned categoriesPennsylvania law bars NIL pay tied to adult entertainment, alcohol, casinos and gambling (including sports betting and the lottery), tobacco and electronic smoking products, prescription pharmaceuticals and controlled dangerous substances. La Salle's policy lists adult entertainment; alcohol; "Products and/or services that run counter to the University mission or Catholic values"; casinos and gambling, including sports betting, the lottery and betting on video, online and mobile games; "Tobacco, Marijuana, and Electronic Smoking Products and Devices"; and prescription pharmaceuticals or controlled substancesLa Salle Athletics, NIL Policy (2021); /nil/college/pennsylvania
School marks and group licensingUnder the 2021 policy athletes may say they play their sport "at La Salle University" but "may not use the University's name in any other manner or use any other logo, trademarks, or other intellectual property". They may not take endorsements or business deals with companies that compete with La Salle sponsors; the policy's example is footwear and team apparel, since athletes wear adidas while training or competing. On 2026-04-29 La Salle named Univest Financial its Official Banking Partner, with naming rights to the Univest Financial Fieldhouse. What is specific to La Salle

La Salle's written NIL rules have not caught up with its own decisions. The July 2021 policy, still the one linked as the "Institutional Policy", says athletes may be paid "only from non-University entities and not from the University", yet La Salle opted into revenue sharing in June 2025 and by July 2025 listed a Men's Basketball General Manager. Its operations have moved on: an August 2026 release says La Salle runs NIL through Teamworks Influencer and has added Teamworks Hub and Wallet, with NIL payments from finalized deals flowing "directly into a student-athlete's Wallet account for immediate access with zero platform fees". The 2021 policy also stops boosters from contacting a recruit "until the prospective student-athlete has committed to attend the University". La Salle named Jarett Gerald vice president of athletics and recreation and director of athletics on 2026-07-06, starting 2026-08-03.

How Leave fits

In Leave, every deal thread carries a rules summary for the athlete's state and level, and keeps the contract, its dates and the disclosure deadline that applies. It is a summary, not a ruling; the school and the law decide. Leave is software, not an agent, and takes 0% of any deal. You decide, you send.

Questions about NIL at La Salle

Does La Salle pay its athletes?

La Salle said on 2025-06-10 that it chose to opt into the House settlement, and the College Sports Commission lists it as a revenue-sharing school for 2026-27, with a cap of about $21.58 million per school. No amounts are published, and La Salle's posted 2021 NIL policy still says athletes are paid only by outside entities.

What NIL collective works with La Salle?

Explorers United, an alumni-led collective that La Salle Athletics announced on 2023-06-01 and that La Salle describes as independent of the university. Its website did not load on 2026-10-23, so its current status is not confirmed.

How do La Salle athletes report NIL deals?

La Salle's 2021 policy asks athletes to disclose a proposed NIL contract at least seven days before signing, on the Compliance Office form. NCAA Bylaws 22.2.2 and 22.2.2.2 also call for reporting third-party deals of $600 or more to NIL Go within five business days.

Can La Salle athletes use La Salle logos in NIL deals?

Not on their own under the 2021 policy, which allows only a statement that the athlete plays a sport at La Salle. The Brandr Group's group licensing program, launched in 2022, offers co-branded products with La Salle marks for athletes who opt in.

Does Pennsylvania NIL law cover La Salle athletes?

Yes. Pennsylvania's Article XX-M covers private colleges chartered in the state. It bars six product categories, makes disclosure to the school optional while letting schools set their own rules, and limits NIL representation to registered athlete agents and Pennsylvania lawyers.
