UTEP NIL rules.

UTEP athletes disclose NIL deals to the school through the INFLCR app, and Texas law requires disclosure before signing. UTEP is in revenue sharing for 2026-27.

The short answer. UTEP's NIL page says all NIL disclosures "must be reported to the institution using the INFLCR app", and its posted policy (dated 2021-09-09) has athletes disclose each proposed contract to Athletics Compliance before signing, as Texas law requires. The College Sports Commission lists UTEP as a revenue-sharing school for 2026-27, with a cap of about $21.58 million per school. UTEP named the Goldmine Collective its official NIL collective in October 2024, then in May 2025 made its own Talent Acquisition Fund "the primary way donors can meaningfully impact" recruiting, as the collective moved to "a business-centric approach". UTEP joined the Mountain West on 2026-07-01.

School NIL policyUTEP "Name, Image, and Likeness Policy", dated 2021-09-09 and posted on the Compliance NIL page. It was written under the 2021 Texas statute: it says UTEP "may not provide or solicit enrolled or prospective student-athletes with compensation" and that UTEP Athletics may not "Arrange or assist in securing compensation for student-athletes", including setting up meetings or marketing an athlete. Texas has since changed both rules (HB 2804 in 2023 and HB 126 in 2025); no newer UTEP policy was found. How deals are disclosedUTEP's NIL page says "All disclosures of commercial use of a student-athletes name, image, and likeness must be reported to the institution using the INFLCR app." The policy says an athlete "Must, before entering into a contract, disclose to the Athletics Compliance Office any proposed contract" and submit a disclosure and attestation form through INFLCR; if Compliance finds a conflict it tells the athlete or representative, who has 10 days to resolve it. NCAA: third-party deals of $600 or more go to NIL Go within five business days (Bylaws 22.2.2, 22.2.2.2). Texas: disclosure before signing (Educ. Revenue sharingThe College Sports Commission lists University of Texas at El Paso for 2026-27 (under "Conference USA" in its table) and puts the cap at "approximately $21.58 million per school" (read 2026-10-23). UTEP Athletics' 2025-04-18 release discontinuing women's tennis said the move would let UTEP reallocate resources "as UTEP prepares for upcoming changes to college athletics, including revenue sharing and roster caps". On 2025-05-21 the Miner Athletic Club introduced a Talent Acquisition Fund (TAF) "In preparation for the revenue-sharing era", and UTEP's deputy athletic director for revenue generation said it "will help determine the level at which we are able to share revenue with our student-athletes, pending approval of the House settlement". On 2025-08-25 the athletic director said "In the new era of revenue sharing, TAF funds are essential to help our coaches recruit and retain talented student-athletes". On 2025-05-21 UTEP Athletics said that "With the Goldmine Collective transitioning to a business-centric approach, the TAF is now the primary way donors can meaningfully impact Miner Athletics' recruiting efforts", thanked the collective for its support of athletes' NIL opportunities "to date", and asked Goldmine members to support the TAF; by 2025-08-25 the "915 Campaign" asked fans to give to the TAF instead. What is specific to UTEP

UTEP enters 2026-27 in a new conference with NIL documents from an earlier era. It left Conference USA and joined the Mountain West on 2026-07-01, yet its Compliance mission page still describes rules "set forth by" Conference USA, and its posted NIL policy (2021-09-09) mirrors the original Texas law: UTEP may not pay athletes, may not arrange deals and bars athletes from using UTEP marks for pay, all rules Texas has since relaxed. The policy also requires a financial literacy and life skills workshop of at least five hours at the start of an athlete's first and third years, the 2021 statutory schedule. On the money side, UTEP's donor appeal has moved twice. In October 2024 the Miner Collective merged into the Goldmine Collective and UTEP launched a "915 Campaign" seeking 915 new collective members at a minimum of $9.15 a month. In May 2025, preparing for revenue sharing, UTEP's Miner Athletic Club created its own Talent Acquisition Fund as the collective shifted to "a business-centric approach", and the 915 Campaign was relaunched in August 2025 for the fund.

How Leave fits

In Leave, every deal thread carries a rules summary for the athlete's state and level, and keeps the contract, its dates and the disclosure deadline that applies. It is a summary, not a ruling; the school and the law decide. Leave is software, not an agent, and takes 0% of any deal. You decide, you send.

Questions about NIL at UTEP

Does UTEP pay its athletes?

UTEP is on the College Sports Commission's list of revenue-sharing schools for 2026-27, and the Commission puts the cap at about $21.58 million per school. UTEP cited coming revenue sharing when it dropped women's tennis in April 2025, and in May 2025 said donations to its Talent Acquisition Fund would help set how much revenue it can share with athletes. No UTEP breakdown is published, and Texas law no longer bars pay from the school.

What NIL collective works with UTEP?

UTEP Athletics named the Goldmine Collective its official NIL collective on 2024-10-31, after the Miner Collective merged into it. In May 2025 UTEP said the collective was "transitioning to a business-centric approach" and that its own Talent Acquisition Fund was now the primary way for donors to support recruiting. The collective's website returned a not-found page on 2026-10-23, though UTEP's athletics site still links its shop; its current status was not confirmed.

How do UTEP athletes report NIL deals?

UTEP's NIL page says disclosures go to the school through the INFLCR app, and its policy says each proposed contract is disclosed to Athletics Compliance before signing, as Texas law requires. Third-party deals of $600 or more also go to NIL Go within five business days under NCAA rules.

Can UTEP athletes use the UTEP logo in NIL deals?

UTEP's posted 2021 policy says athletes are prohibited from using UTEP logos, marks or branding to earn NIL pay. Texas law since 2023 allows a school to permit use of its marks with licensing and market-rate payment; no updated UTEP rule was found.

What can't UTEP athletes endorse?

Texas law and UTEP's policy bar NIL pay for endorsing alcohol, tobacco and nicotine products, anabolic steroids, sports betting, casino gambling, a firearm the athlete cannot legally buy, or a sexually oriented business, plus deals that conflict with team rules, UTEP contracts or policies.
