Evansville NIL rules.

Evansville's NIL page says a UE policy is still being developed and has athletes email an NCAA self-disclosure form. Indiana has no NIL law.

The short answer. The University of Evansville's NIL page says UE Athletics "is in the process of developing a policy" and has athletes who take part in NIL "complete the NCAA NIL Self-Disclosure" and email it to the address the page gives; NCAA rules add NIL Go reporting for outside deals of $600 or more. Indiana has no college NIL statute. Evansville's opt-in to revenue sharing rests on the College Sports Commission's 2026-27 table alone; UE has published no statement of its own. In July 2024 UE's athletic director wrote that UE Athletics works "very closely" with the Purple Reign collective, whose website showed a suspended-hosting notice on 2026-10-23.

The rules at Evansville

University of Evansville · Missouri Valley
QuestionWhat is publishedSource
School NIL policyNot published. UE's Name, Image, Likeness page says: "The University of Evansville Athletics Department is in the process of developing a policy for Name, Image and Likeness. It will be available on this page upon completion." The page (written around the NCAA's July 2021 interim policy, whose documents it links) adds that "conversations with any University of Evansville administrative or athletic staff regarding NIL do not constitute legal advice"UE Athletics, Name, Image, Likeness page
How deals are disclosedNCAA: third-party deals of $600 or more are reported to NIL Go within five business days (Bylaws 22.2.2, 22.2.2.2). UE's page says athletes who take part in NIL complete "the NCAA NIL Self-Disclosure" and send it to ks682@evansville.edu, and that updates go to the same address. UE's Opendorse marketplace release (2023-03-23) says athletes "can automatically disclose their activity to UE Athletics" through the app. No Indiana statute addresses NIL disclosureUE Athletics, NIL page and Opendorse release (2023-03-23); NCAA 2026-27 Division I Manual; /nil/college/indiana
Banned categoriesNo Indiana statute lists NIL categories. UE's own list: Not published/nil/college/indiana
School marks and group licensingNot published for NIL. UE's NIL page sets no rule on athletes using UE marks in NIL deals, and no group licensing program was found on UE's athletics siteUE Athletics, NIL page
Revenue sharingThe College Sports Commission lists the University of Evansville for 2026-27 and puts the cap at "approximately $21.58 million per school" (read 2026-10-23). That table is the only source for Evansville's opt-in: no UE statement on revenue sharing was found on its athletics site, and no UE total is publishedCollege Sports Commission
Collective or NIL groupUE's athletic director wrote on 2024-07-30 that "a new NIL Collective, Purple Reign, was formed by several committed supporters of UE Athletics", that "NIL Collectives must be owned and operated by a third-party", and that "UE Athletics works very closely with the Purple Reign Board, and we are fully behind their efforts". On 2026-10-23 the Purple Reign website showed a notice that its hosting account was suspended; the collective's status was not confirmed. An earlier group, the "TrUE & Loyal Collective", was "launched in the fall of 2022" per UE's 2023-03-23 release. UE also has an official Opendorse NIL marketplace (2023)UE Athletics, AD letter (2024-07-30) and Opendorse release (2023-03-23)
Agents and representationUE's NIL page says athletes "are encouraged to seek reputable outside counsel" when pursuing NIL deals; a UE rule on agents for NIL: Not published. Indiana law: athlete agents register with the attorney general for two years, an agency contract includes one for an endorsement contract, the athlete may cancel within 14 days, and giving anything of value to induce a signing is a Level 6 felony (IC 25-5.2)UE Athletics, NIL page; /nil/college/indiana
Compliance contactUE Athletics Compliance and Student Services; the staff directory lists Kim Smith, Associate Athletics Director for Compliance and Student-Athlete Services, (812) 488-2339. The NIL page lists Sarah Solinsky for NIL questions, ss78@evansville.edu, 812-488-2759, and Kate Hogan (Cultural Engagement and International Services, kh114@evansville.edu, 812-488-2575) for international athletesUE Athletics, Staff Directory and NIL page
State lawIndiana has no college NIL statute (one 2026 high school amendment was withdrawn), so NIL at UE runs on NCAA rules and UE's practices, while IC 25-5.2, the athlete agent act, requires agent registration with the attorney general and covers endorsement contracts; no statute/nil/college/indiana

What is specific to Evansville

The University of Evansville is a private, United Methodist-affiliated university in southwestern Indiana that plays no football, and its NIL page reads as a 2021 document that was never replaced. It still links the NCAA's 2021 interim policy papers, says Indiana "has not developed specific legislation" (which remains the case), promises a UE policy "upon completion", and handles disclosure by having athletes fill in an NCAA self-disclosure spreadsheet and email it. What UE has published since is mostly about money from supporters: a TrUE and Loyal Collective in 2022, an Opendorse marketplace in 2023 that lets fans "browse, book, pitch and pay" UE athletes, and a 2024 letter backing the Purple Reign collective. The page also flags two practical points for athletes: NIL income "could have an impact on need-based financial aid, including the Pell Grant", and international athletes are told to contact UE's international services office before any arrangement.

How Leave fits

In Leave, every deal thread carries a rules summary for the athlete's state and level, and keeps the contract, its dates and the disclosure deadline that applies. It is a summary, not a ruling; the school and the law decide. Leave is software, not an agent, and takes 0% of any deal. You decide, you send.

Questions about NIL at Evansville

Does Evansville pay its athletes?

The only published source is the College Sports Commission's 2026-27 table of schools taking part in revenue sharing, which lists the University of Evansville; the cap is about $21.58 million per school. UE itself has published no statement on revenue sharing, no totals and nothing on how the money is divided.

Does the University of Evansville have an NIL policy?

Not a published one. UE's NIL page says the athletics department "is in the process of developing a policy" and that it will be posted on the page when complete. NCAA rules apply in the meantime, including NIL Go reporting.

How do Evansville athletes report NIL deals?

UE's NIL page has athletes complete the NCAA NIL Self-Disclosure and email it to the address on the page, with updates sent the same way. NCAA rules also call for reporting outside deals of $600 or more to NIL Go within five business days.

What NIL collective works with Evansville?

UE's athletic director named Purple Reign in July 2024 and said UE works closely with its board. On 2026-10-23 the Purple Reign website showed a suspended-hosting notice, so its current status is not confirmed. A TrUE and Loyal Collective launched in 2022.

Is there an Indiana NIL law?

Not for college athletes. Indiana has passed no college NIL statute, so UE athletes follow NCAA rules. Indiana's athlete agent law (IC 25-5.2) still requires agents to register with the attorney general, including agents for endorsement contracts.
