Toledo NIL rules.

Toledo has athletes disclose every NIL deal within five business days (Influencer under $600, NIL Go at $600 or more) and logs revenue sharing in CAPS.

The short answer. Toledo's Compliance Manual, revised 2026-03-13, says athletes "shall disclose all noninstitutional NIL activities to the institution, whether in-kind or cash transactions, within five business days of execution", through the Influencer platform for deals under $600 and NIL Go for $600 or more, and that "All revenue sharing/NIL licensure agreements must be input into the CAPS system". The College Sports Commission lists Toledo as a participating school for 2026-27. Athletic Director Tom Moreland wrote on 2026-10-16 that the Executive Associate AD announced in June "will oversee NIL and revenue sharing, including strategic decisions regarding student-athlete compensation and roster resources".

School NIL policySection 12 of the Toledo Athletics Compliance Manual (revised 2026-03-13) is the current written rule: athletes and the school "shall comply with Ohio NIL laws", disclose all noninstitutional NIL activity, attest each year that they have done so, and may not be promised third-party NIL, since "A written or oral third-party NIL contract or payment may not be provided". How deals are disclosedNIL Go for third-party deals of $600 or more within five business days (NCAA Bylaws 22.2.2, 22.2.2.2). Toledo's manual sets five business days for all noninstitutional NIL, cash or in-kind: "For NIL transactions of less than $600.00, student-athletes will use the Influencer platform for disclosure", and "For individual or aggregate transactions of $600.00 or more with the same business entity, NIL Go will be used for disclosure. These transactions must be approved by NIL GO." The compliance office assists NIL Go on valid business purpose and on whether a business is an associated entity. The NIL Resource Center adds that athletes may not "endorse or wear non-Nike accessories or gear" during team travel or official team activity funded by Toledo. The 2026 manual lists no categories. Toledo's manual (Section 14) says all revenue sharing and NIL licensure agreements, "including the distribution schedule for all payments", go into CAPS, and that sport programs follow House settlement roster limits. Agents and representationToledo's manual says professional sports agents "are required to register with the Athletics Department, as well as the State of Ohio through the Ohio Athletic Commission". It also lets the university or an entity it controls "Act as a marketing agent for a student-athlete with respect to noninstitutional name, image or likeness contracts", with a parent, guardian, lawyer or other representative able to assist unless the athlete waives that in writing. What is specific to Toledo

Toledo has written its post-settlement NIL rules into its compliance manual rather than a separate policy. The March 2026 revision includes a two-tier disclosure system (Influencer for deals under $600, NIL Go above), an annual attestation that every noninstitutional deal was disclosed, a section on revenue sharing and roster management tied to the CAPS system, and a clause letting the university itself act as an athlete's marketing agent for outside NIL deals. Older sections were marked "Eliminated Due to House Settlement", among them the fee-for-lesson rule. The department has also built staff around the new model: in October 2025 it hired its first Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Benefits and Data Analytics, whose work covers "student-athlete benefits and revenue sharing", and in October 2026 Moreland moved oversight of NIL and revenue sharing to an Executive Associate AD who previously led NIL administration and revenue-sharing implementation at Purdue.

How Leave fits

In Leave, every deal thread carries a rules summary for the athlete's state and level, and keeps the contract, its dates and the disclosure deadline that applies. It is a summary, not a ruling; the school and the law decide. Leave is software, not an agent, and takes 0% of any deal. You decide, you send.

Questions about NIL at Toledo

Does Toledo pay its athletes?

The College Sports Commission lists the University of Toledo as a participating school in revenue sharing for 2026-27, when the cap is approximately $21.58 million per school, and Toledo's compliance manual requires revenue sharing agreements and their payment schedules to be entered in the CAPS system. How do Toledo Rockets athletes report NIL deals?

Within five business days of signing, for every noninstitutional deal, cash or in-kind. Athletes also attest each year that they have disclosed every deal.

Is there an NIL collective for Toledo?

Toledo's athletics site does not name one. It points businesses and donors to the Toledo Rockets Exchange, a Teamworks Influencer marketplace launched in September 2025, and has announced its ninth "Rockets Rise: Networking & NIL Night" for employers and NIL partners on 2027-02-11.

Can the University of Toledo act as an athlete's NIL agent?

Toledo's compliance manual says the university or an entity it owns, controls, funds or operates may "Act as a marketing agent for a student-athlete with respect to noninstitutional name, image or likeness contracts", and that a parent, guardian, lawyer or other representative may assist unless the athlete waives that in writing.

Who oversees NIL at Toledo Athletics?

Athletic Director Tom Moreland wrote on 2026-10-16 that Executive Associate AD Tanner Ball "will oversee NIL and revenue sharing, including strategic decisions regarding student-athlete compensation and roster resources".
