Ohio law requires athlete agents to register with the Ohio athletic commission (R.C. 4771.06) and, since 2026-03-20, bars NIL agent contracts that run past eligibility (R.C. 4771.021) | Wright State Policy 3810; /nil/college/ohio |

What is specific to Wright State
Wright State's Policy 3810 is stricter on timing than many school policies: an athlete may not agree to an NIL contract, take payment or perform under it until the Athletics Compliance Office has reviewed and approved it, and every new athlete has 30 days after enrolling to disclose all current and expired NIL activity unless the athlete declines the university's NIL assistance in writing. The policy also lets Wright State hire third parties, such as a multimedia rights holder, attorney, tax service or NIL marketplace, to give athletes the support it may give, while the athlete keeps "final decision in accepting or rejecting" deals. After the House settlement was approved, Athletic Director Joylynn Brown said Wright State was bringing NIL operations in-house, and in September 2025 it named its first NIL Program Manager, a former compliance coordinator, to lead both NIL and revenue sharing.
How Leave fits
In Leave, every deal thread carries a rules summary for the athlete's state and level, and keeps the contract, its dates and the disclosure deadline that applies. It is a summary, not a ruling; the school and the law decide. Leave is software, not an agent, and takes 0% of any deal. You decide, you send.
