What is specific to UC Santa Barbara
UC Santa Barbara is a longtime Big West school on its way out: on 2026-04-10 it accepted an invitation to join the West Coast Conference from 2027-07-01 in every sport the WCC sponsors, returning to a league it belonged to from 1965 to 1969, and the Big West says UCSB will stay an affiliate in men's volleyball and men's and women's track and field from 2027-28. Kelly Barsky, The Arnhold Director of Athletics, called it "a transformative moment" and said UCSB looks forward to "elevating our exposure, growing our programs". On NIL, UCSB publishes less than UC Irvine or UC San Diego: no policy, no disclosure portal and no named collective or marketplace on its athletics site. What its compliance page, titled "NCAA Compliance and California Legislation", does publish is the scholarship renewal and hearing process (a written request within 30 days of a reduction, cancellation or non-renewal), athletics injury coverage for up to two years from the injury, and the state law barring schools from asking students for social media passwords. UC Santa Barbara is listed by the College Sports Commission as a revenue-sharing school for 2026-27.
How Leave fits
In Leave, every deal thread carries a rules summary for the athlete's state and level, and keeps the contract, its dates and the disclosure deadline that applies. It is a summary, not a ruling; the school and the law decide. Leave is software, not an agent, and takes 0% of any deal. You decide, you send.
